"I have decided to sell the 4 guitars I have left from my days with Level 42.
In recent years my Les Paul Junior and my Telecaster have become my instruments of choice so even the Red Les Paul doesn't get a look in and I am happy to pass them on to any one who feels they might like to own a part of Level 42's history".

So the opportunity is here !

We are selling these instruments to the bidder with the highest offer above the reserve price.  Bids may be sent by email or phone.
For details see below.

There are 4 guitars available and there now follows a description and some history of the instruments in Boons own words.

Gibson Les Paul Standard.                   Starting price £3000.
This is the Red Les Paul that was used as my main guitar for most of my time with Level 42.
I used it in the studio to record pretty well every thing I played on and always went back to using it live as no other guitar felt the same.

Gordon Smith.                                      Starting price £1000.
I bought this guitar because Alan Holdsworth used them. It was used on the Level 42 album and also on an early tour in Europe. It Is a nice guitar but I found the neck a bit wide for my taste so it got sidelined and has been decorating my studio in recent years.

JD Guitar.                                              Starting price £1000.

I bought this around 1984 I think. I went up to see John Diggins with Mark and he had just made the guitar so I bought it. I don't remember when and where I used it but I know I used it live for a while although it could not replace the red Les Paul, so into the attic it went.

Hoyer Les Paul.                                      Starting price £750.

This is the guitar I had when I first went to London. It was used on the Early Tapes album and also on some of the earliest gigs and for while I used it as a spare guitar on stage. Eventually it was sidelined but not before being damaged in a freak accident involving concrete steps outside a gig. John Diggins repaired it for me and resprayed it yellow as well as putting new pickups on it that made it sound a lot better but by then I was well and truly tied up with the red Les Paul so it has
gathered dust ever since.

The guitars can be signed by Boon if requested. As it is they are not signed anywhere.
A pack of Signed strings in Boons gauge of 10 - 46 will accompany each guitar. The Guitars will be in new cases suitable for transporting them but not old original cases.

The guitars have small cosmetic imperfections i.e. small marks, scuffs and scrapes bur are otherwise fully functioning and as played by Boon.
